Oldham's Ripple secures EcoVadis Platinum and triple ISO accreditations
Oldham's Ripple earns EcoVadis Platinum for sustainability, affirming its decades-long community commitment.

A longstanding Oldham business has earned a significant hat‑trick of accreditations that place it among an elite group of companies worldwide. Ripple, a retail design and manufacturing firm based in the town, has secured EcoVadis Platinum status alongside Investors in People Platinum accreditation and triple UKAS ISO certification — a combination that recognises excellence in sustainability, people development, and operational performance.
For a business that has been part of the Oldham community for more than four decades, these awards reflect more than just external recognition. They underline the way Ripple works day in, day out, with a focus on ethical practices, employee wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
The EcoVadis Platinum award is a particular milestone. Ripple has been working with the global sustainability rating platform since 2022 and had previously held the Gold level. Now it has reached Platinum, putting the company in the top one per cent of all businesses assessed across environmental impact, labour standards, ethics, and responsible procurement. The achievement has come through steady, consistent steps — from reducing carbon emissions to tightening up supply chain standards.
Alongside its environmental work, Ripple has long placed a strong emphasis on its people. The firm has held Investors in People accreditation for over a decade and was awarded Platinum again in July 2025. Inside the business, the accreditation reflects a culture that values open communication, long-term career development, and a sense of shared purpose — values that trace back to Ripple’s origins as a family‑run company.
In September 2025, the company also secured triple UKAS ISO certification covering quality, environmental management, and health and safety (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001). Rather than adding bureaucracy, the standards have helped bring clarity: documented processes, clear responsibilities, and consistent ways of working. For clients, that translates into fewer surprises, better communication, and smoother project delivery.
Ripple’s Oldham base remains central to its identity. Being a local business has built strong, long‑standing relationships and a level of trust that is hard to replicate at a distance. And while clients now ask tougher questions about how a company operates — not just what it makes — these accreditations provide a clear, evidence‑backed answer to that scrutiny.
Managing Director David Wolfenden said: “Ripple is both a retail design agency and a full‑scale manufacturing facility. As we approach our 44th anniversary, we remain a multi‑generational, family‑owned business that has continually evolved through decades of experience and improvement. Today, we combine that heritage with a modern outlook, staying at the forefront of our industry while retaining the character and values that define us.
“We are known for creating high‑performance retail environments and award‑winning showrooms that amplify brands, enhance customer journeys, and drive engagement. But our success has never been defined by output alone. At the heart of Ripple is a commitment to integrity, respect, and a people‑first philosophy. Whether working with our team, clients, suppliers, or the wider community, we believe strong, ethical relationships are fundamental to long‑term success.”
Now that all three accreditations have been secured in a short space of time, the focus for the business is on maintaining those standards and building on them, project by project. For a company rooted in Oldham, that progress feels close to home — and a source of genuine pride for the whole team.
