People living in Oldham are being asked to walk barefoot across hot coals to raise money for mental health, learning disability and autism services.

Pennine Care Charity is inviting people from across Oldham and Greater Manchester to take part in the fire walk at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust's headquarters in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The event will take place on Monday, November 2, from 5pm to 8pm. It is open to anyone aged 12 and over, with participants walking across a bed of glowing embers after safety training and guidance from experienced fire walk professionals.

Money raised will support mental health, learning disability and autism services across the communities served by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The charity funds projects, activities and improvements that go beyond NHS funding.

Recent projects include funding for a gardening and allotment group in Oldham, helping people experiencing psychosis as part of their recovery.

Pennine Care Charity Director Wes Partington said: "By conquering your fear, you'll also be helping others. Every pound raised will support mental health, learning disability and autism services across our communities."
