Oldham Athletic have signed midfielder Tom Hill following a successful pre-season with the club.

The 23-year-old joins the Latics after impressing throughout the summer, earning his place in the squad with a number of strong performances in midfield.

Hill rounded off pre-season by scoring in Saturday's 4-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, a strike that underlined the confidence he has shown in the warm-up games.

The midfielder is capped at U21 level by Wales. He joins after 18 months in Sky Bet League Two with Harrogate, where he signed in January 2025.

A product of Liverpool's Academy, Hill progressed through the ranks at the Premier League club and captained them at youth level before making his senior debut in the Carabao Cup. He gained valuable experience on loan away from Anfield before continuing his career in the English Football League.

On joining the Latics, Hill said: "I'm delighted to sign for the club. From the moment I came in during pre-season, everyone made me feel welcome.

"It's a great group of players and staff, and I can't wait to get started properly.

"The fans have been brilliant throughout pre-season and scoring last week was a special moment. Hopefully it's the first of many good memories here. I'm excited for the season ahead and can't wait to pull on the shirt competitively."

"You can see he's got real technical ability, he's comfortable on the ball and he wants to make things happen in the final third. His goal against Sheffield Wednesday was an outstanding finish and it showed the confidence and quality he's got, but it's not just about one moment, he's impressed us every day with his attitude and willingness to work.

"We believe there's still plenty more to come from him. He's hungry to prove himself and he's got a point to make. It's now about getting his head down, working hard every day and helping the team be successful."
