Oldham Athletic have signed attacking player Favour Fawunmi on a season-long loan from Stoke City.

The 20-year-old joins after spending the second half of last season on loan at Sky Bet League One side, Leyton Orient.

Fawunmi developed in West Ham United's youth system, joining at U15 level. He was part of their 2023 FA Youth Cup-winning side and scored 17 goals in 44 appearances for the U18s over two seasons.

He moved to Stoke in 2025 and has made two senior appearances, the first as a substitute in an FA Cup tie against Cardiff in February 2025.

On joining the club, Fawunmi said: "I'm really excited to get started, it's going to be a good season. I'm someone that likes to carry the ball, I like to create chances. Hopefully I'll score some goals and get a few assists as well. The fans can really get behind the players here and be the 12th man at times so I'm looking forward to experiencing that this season."

Manager Micky Mellon added: "We're really pleased to bring Favour to the football club. He's an exciting attacking prospect with plenty of pace, creativity and the ability to make things happen in the final third. He's a young player who has had a taste of senior football and he comes here hungry to keep developing his game."
