After two decades of serving the Mossley community, Salsa Beauty Rooms on Stamford Street is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open afternoon on Saturday, May 16. The family-run salon is inviting both longtime customers and newcomers to join the party from 2pm, marking two decades of treatments and community connections.

Just a few doors away, 26-year-old Sophie Swallow is launching her own venture. Lola Hair Studio at number 31 Stamford Street is Sophie's first salon, born from a lengthy apprenticeship that began when she was a Saturday junior in Delph. Raised in Springhead and now living in Grotton, Sophie said she is excited to bring her skills to her hometown area. The new hairdressing business adds to the variety of independent shops and services along Stamford Street.

Meanwhile, community groups in the wider Saddleworth area have received a welcome financial boost thanks to the Rotary Club of Saddleworth's first ever "Dragon's Den" style grant event. Held at the White Hart in Lydgate, the event saw six local groups pitch their projects for funding. Successful applications included support for a costume wardrobe and a major building revamp, with the club committing much-needed cash to initiatives that benefit residents across the Oldham area.
