Organisers of the Diggle Spooky Scarecrow Trail are asking for more entries to make sure this year's event can go ahead.

The trail is held around the village each October half term and is organised by Friends of Diggle School, which raises money for the children of the school.

A call on the group's Facebook page asks more people to display scarecrow creations for the trail on October 23 to November 1.

They wrote: "We need a few more entries to make this event happen so if you'd love to support your local community and help raise funds for the children of Diggle School, please get in touch!"

The post added that a few spots are available on council land throughout the village, so entrants do not need to live in Diggle. "We can find a place for your spooky creation," they said.

To get involved, contact the Diggle Scarecrow Trail Facebook page or ring Aimee on 07983 121755.
