Light Up Denshaw needs up to £600 to cover the cost of this year's Christmas lights, the Saddleworth Independent reports. The volunteer group has raised £300 in the past fortnight but says a further £500 to £600 is needed.

Oldham Council has confirmed the village Christmas tree will arrive on Saturday, November 7, and volunteers plan to put up decorations over that weekend. Donations can go straight to the Light Up Denshaw bank account, avoiding platform deductions, or via its fundraising page, and extra helpers are welcome.
