Lees pub The Grapes reopening pushed back to June 2027
The Grapes in Lees will stay closed until June 2027 after renovation complications and council permission delays disrupted its planned reopening.
A Lees pub closed for roof repairs and refurbishment will not reopen until June 2027, Saddleworth Independent reports. The Grapes shut in September, with management originally hoping to welcome customers back in November or December. Problems found during the building work, along with delays over council permissions, have pushed that timetable back.
The team, including Wayne and Sharon, apologised for the lack of communication and said they had only recently learned how far behind the work had fallen. "We WILL be back at The Grapes!" they told customers, promising further updates on the pub's Facebook page.
