The Velvet Hanger, the pre-loved designer clothing shop on High Street in Lees, has closed after three years, the Saddleworth Independent reports. Nikki Lees, a podiatrist, and beautician Clair Rogers opened the boutique in September 2023 so customers could browse and try on second-hand high street and designer labels in person rather than buying online.

Clair Rogers said the shop's window displays drew comment: "Everyone says we've got the best window in Lees." New owners are being sought for the business.
