Mahdlo Youth Zone has launched a 15 for 15 fundraising campaign to mark its 15th anniversary, with JW Lees Brewery becoming the first supporter through a commitment of £15,000 a year for three years.

The campaign aims to recruit 15 businesses or individuals, each committing to raise or donate £15,000 over the initiative.

JW Lees has supported Mahdlo since the youth centre opened in 2012. Managing director William Lees Jones served as the charity's first chairman and helped establish the Youth Zone in Oldham.

Lucy Lees, chief executive officer of Mahdlo Youth Zone, said: "Reaching 15 years is a major milestone for Mahdlo and reflects the incredible support we have received from our young people, families, staff, volunteers and partners across Oldham. As we look ahead, our 15 for 15 campaign is about ensuring we can continue to provide opportunities for young people across the borough. We are hugely grateful to JW Lees for leading the way with such a significant commitment and we are now calling on other businesses to stand with us and help secure continued support for young people across Oldham."

Mahdlo is now inviting other businesses and individuals to join the campaign by making a similar commitment.
