The Navigation Inn in Dobcross has new custodians, after Justine and Phillip Smith confirmed they are taking over the Wool Road pub. Saddleworth Independent reported the announcement, which comes weeks after the previous management held a farewell session for customers before closing the doors.

Justine said the move was "a new home, a new adventure" as well as a business. The couple said they felt privileged to take on a pub that means a great deal to people in Dobcross and the surrounding villages.

No official reopening date has been announced.
