First Choice Homes Oldham wins three awards at Oldham Business Awards
FCHO won three awards at the Oldham Business Awards at The Loom, capping two weeks that included regulator praise and approval for 147 affordable homes.
First Choice Homes Oldham has won three awards at this year's Oldham Business Awards. The honours were announced at a black tie ceremony at The Loom in the town.
The housing provider said the wins rounded off an impressive two weeks. It had already been given top marks by the Regulator of Social Housing, which commended how the organisation is run and its financial stability. Late last month, planning permission was granted for FCHO's biggest development so far: 147 affordable homes at Southlink in Oldham.
Chief Executive Mark Gifford said: "Everyone at FCHO is buzzing at the moment and these three awards are really the icing on the cake of a great two weeks."
He added: "It's really important to receive this recognition in the town where we are based, where the majority of our houses and customers are and where we are working hard to make a difference to our communities."
Gifford thanked his colleagues for their work and said receiving the awards in Oldham mattered because that is where FCHO is based and where most of its homes and customers are.
He also congratulated the other businesses honoured on the night, saying: "It was a great awards night for us and a proud one for Oldham too because many other businesses were celebrated for their great achievements."
