Saddleworth Parish Council is taking entries for its annual Christmas Illuminations Competition, with judging to be carried out across the villages on Wednesday, December 16 from 5.30pm. The Saddleworth Independent reported the appeal.

Judges will tour the area that evening to view displays put up by residents, businesses and community groups. There are four categories in this year's competition, and entrants are asked to have their lights on and displays ready from 5.30pm.

A spokesperson said the council was "looking forward to seeing the decorations". To enter, contact the parish council on 01457 876665 or email [email protected].
