Emmaus Mossley team raises more than £600 for Dove Stone after Scafell Pike hike
Ten Emmaus Mossley walkers climbed Scafell Pike and raised more than £600 for RSPB Dove Stone to restore wildfire-hit habitats.
Ten people linked to the homelessness charity Emmaus Mossley, some of whom have experienced homelessness, raised more than £600 for RSPB Dove Stone by climbing Scafell Pike, Saddleworth Independent reports.
The nine-mile trek will support habitat restoration at the reservoir and improve the RSPB's readiness for wildfires, after two blazes destroyed between 800 and 1,000 hectares of habitat there this summer.
Kate Hanley, site manager at RSPB Dove Stone, said: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of volunteers from Emmaus Mossley."
