A 57-year-old man from Eccles has been charged with firearms and drug offences after police uncovered guns and ammunition during a search of his home and garden in Salford. David White, of Crowngreen Road, was taken into custody after the search by Greater Manchester Police.

The search took place on Crowngreen Road in Eccles, where officers executed a warrant and carried out a thorough examination of the property and surrounding garden. This led to the recovery of multiple firearms, a quantity of ammunition, an offensive weapon, and Class B drugs. The items have been seized for further forensic examination, with investigations ongoing to determine their origin and any links to other criminal activity.

White has been formally charged with two counts of possession of a firearm without a certificate, one count of possession of ammunition, one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, and one count of possession of Class B drugs. He appeared before Manchester Magistrates Court on 22 July 2026, where magistrates decided to remand him in custody. The case has been adjourned and is expected to be sent to the Crown Court for trial. White will remain in prison until his next court date.
