The Fairy Garden Trail in Dobcross aims to raise £10,000 for a new school playground. The event, organised by Friends of Dobcross School (FODS), returns this summer with a theme of favourite children's storybooks.

The trail runs from Monday, August 17 to Wednesday, September 2. Dobcross residents are encouraged to create their own storybook-themed fairy garden display in their front garden.

FODS is providing a list of story ideas, but participants can choose their own. The group said last year's trail provided a low-cost activity for hundreds of children and families.

Previous trails have raised funds for the school. One raised £476, while another, which featured over 20 displays, raised £445.34. This year's event has a higher fundraising target to support the playground project.
