Delph Library, which is run entirely by volunteers, has appealed for more people to cover its shifts, the Saddleworth Independent reports.

Help is needed on Tuesdays from 2pm to 5pm and on Fridays from 10am to 1pm. Anyone who cannot manage every week can volunteer on alternate weeks instead.

Organisers say extra support is essential to keep the opening hours going for residents of all ages, describing the library as "a welcoming community space" as well as a place to borrow books.
