A £3.7 million scheme to improve the energy efficiency of 302 First Choice Homes Oldham properties in Holts has started. The work covers 202 houses and 100 flats, with new roofing, triple-glazed windows, new doors, loft insulation top-ups and ventilation upgrades.

The programme is part of FCHO's goal to ensure all its homes have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of at least C by 2030. Contractor Connolly is carrying out the retrofit work, which is expected to take a year.

This Holts scheme is part of an £18.2 million investment across FCHO communities in the current financial year. The improvements should make homes more efficient to heat and quieter, thanks to the triple glazing.

FCHO said more properties will receive similar upgrades in the coming years. Residents affected will be contacted.
