£2m of drugs and three cannabis farms found after 38-year-old man arrested in Middleton stop and search
Police found three cannabis farms in Chadderton, Middleton and Oldham and £2 million of suspected cocaine after arresting a 38-year-old man in Middleton.

A 38-year-old man remains in custody for questioning after a stop and search in Middleton led police to around £2 million worth of suspected cocaine and three cannabis farms.
The man was arrested on Sunday, October 4, when patrol officers from the Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped a suspicious vehicle parked on Cemetery Street, Middleton. A search recovered a portion of class A drugs, scales and cash. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, Greater Manchester Police said.
Further intelligence led officers to search three properties in Middleton, Chadderton and Oldham. A cannabis farm was found at each address, along with 20 kilograms of suspected cocaine. All the recoveries are due to be assessed further, and police put the estimated street value of the drugs at around £2 million.
Inspector Graham Cooke, from GMP's Heywood and Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "While last week saw a significant day in tackling suspected organised criminality across our areas, yesterday's result showed the successes that ongoing proactive patrolling can achieve."
He said detectives are working to secure further evidence and charges from last week's work, while neighbourhood officers continue to patrol hotspots and take action where needed.
He urged anyone with information about criminality in their area to contact police. "We will do what we can to assist," he said.
