Saddleworth Independent reports that around 126 more parking spaces will be available at Oldham's Town Square Car Park for the festive trading period. The spaces become available on Monday, November 9, the council says, giving shoppers, market visitors and event-goers another option in the town centre.

James Kington, the council's growth director, said the extra capacity would make it easier for residents and visitors to use the town's shops, markets and attractions. The authority says the move supports local businesses over Christmas and beyond.
